The wonderful and powerful The Skin You Live In written by Michael Tyler and illustrated by David Lee Csicsko is one of my favorite children's books. It focuses on how beautiful your skin is and really empowers the young reader. It is a reminder that we are all more alike in how we look than we are different. One of the more impactful lines states, "It's not dumb skin or smart skin, or keep us apart skin; or weak skin or strong skin, I'm right and you're wrong skin." Exactly.
